Servage One was founded back in 1998, but had a different name. The company grew steadily and today they serve almost 200,000 websites and offer shared and VPS hosting packages. They have only two pricing packages, one for shared and one for VPS hosting, which may seem a bit scarce at first glance, but the features that are included are very good, as well as the prices.
Web Hosting features:
- 3 to 6 month agreement
- Linux based
- Unlimited disk space, bandwidth and domains
- Web based control panel
- Free site builder
- Full DNS management
- Script Installer
VPS hosting features:
- One year agreement
- Linux based
- Dedicated IP
- Unlimited websites
- SSL, Flash support, EXIF, XML and SSI support
- Private CGI-BIN
- FTP Access
- Unlimited IMAP and POP3, as well as newsletters and autoresponders
- Spam and Virus Filtering
Servage One offers shared and VPS hosting to their customers and has only one plan for each.
Their shared hosting plan offers unlimited disk space, bandwidth and email accounts, as well as a free domain name registration and site builder and FTP, SSL and statistics. It’s best suited for individuals or businesses who are on small budget. The cost of this plan is €3.95 a month and it has quite a lot of features you won’t be able to find with some other hosting companies, especially not at this price.
Their VPS plan is perfect for those who wish to have a bit more control over the configuration. It comes with one CPU, 600MB of RAM, 150GB of disk space and 5TB of bandwidth and starts at €17.70 a month.
There isn’t any information about where the Servage One Datacenters are located, only that they are in an area that isn’t active seismically. Their servers run on Intel Multicore processors and have RAID protected hard disk drives and more than 20GB RAM per cluster. The datacenter uses 4 independent gigabit fiber optic links. The servers are monitored around the clock and have a 99.98% uptime, according to Servage One, but there are no statistics available that would confirm this claim.
CONTROL PANEL INFORMATION
The control panel Servage One offers isn’t cPanel (unfortunately), which is the most common control panel nowadays, but their own in-house developed control panel. The control panel offers a good number of features, but as it isn’t really familiar, it will take some time to adjust to it. The control panel offers a fully featured filemanager, autoinstaller, FTP management, Full DNS control, integrated accounting, email management, an optional antispam system, full DNS control and integrated accounting, as well as an extensive help center. There is no control panel demo, however.
The Servage One customer support is available around the clock and you can reach them via live chat, phone or email. There are pretty much the standard options nowadays, but it’s hard to find the phone number on their website. They also have a help center that is integrated within their control panel, as well as a wiki page where you can easily find various tutorials and explanations.
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
The money back guarantee that Servage One offers is much shorter than the usual standard. Should you not be satisfied with what they offer, you can get a refund within the first five days. This is much shorter than the standard 30-day refund that most other hosting companies offer and there is little information on what this refund includes or excludes, so you should make sure to check everything thoroughly before you choose any of their plans.
The Servage One hosting offers somewhat limited plans that aren’t considered really flexible. Even though these plans aren’t flexible, they have a multitude of features available, but there also isn’t much room for improvement. If you are looking for dedicated hosting, unfortunately, you won’t be able to find it here. Their shared and VPS hosting plans are good for newcomers who wish to have a basic website set up quickly and without much hassle. Both plans offer a good number of unlimited features and their support center and customer service is quite good as well. The downside to this particular hosting company is the fact that you have to pay a setup fee for their VPS plan and that there are no fully managed options available to you. Their prices are a big plus, however. If you are considering them for your hosting plan, you should definitely make sure that the plan you choose, be it shared of VPS hosting, has all the necessary things you need.
