HostPapa offers a shared hosting plan and reseller plans. There are no indications that they plan to offer VPS or dedicated hosting in the near future. Their shared hosting plan features unlimited disk space, domain names and bandwidth, as well as a free setup and site builder and is readily available for $3.95 a month. This price is a limited offer for new customers. The renewal rate differs depending on how long you sign up for. A three year sign-up is most cost efficient; you will pay $6.99 a month if you choose this option. The two-year plan costs $7.99 a month, while the one-year plan costs $8.99 a month.
Their reseller packages are divided into five categories (bronze, silver, gold, platinum and titanium) and the prices range from $19.95/month to $79.95/month. The plans differ according to the amount of disk space and bandwidth provided with each plan. All of them come with free setup, unlimited cPanel accounts and domains hosted, as well as three IP addresses. The customers will have access to a site builder, a client control panel, as well as website templates, RAID backup and 24/7 support. The clients are also able to request a money back request within the first 30 days.
They also offer a mobile website creation suite for $2.99 a month and a free trial period of one month.
HostPapa provides Linux based hosting. Their data center is located in Toronto and is monitored around the clock. It’s backed up by a UPS power systems and diesel generators so that they keep running in case of a power outage. The servers receive regular backup, but the backups are not available to customers; HostPapa uses them for their own needs in case of system failure and advises their clients to regularly back up on their own as well. HostPapa also states that they are a green company and that their servers are powered by 100% renewable energy. They also guarantee that their server uptime is 99.9%, but there is no data available to check whether or not this is true.
CONTROL PANEL INFORMATION
HostPapa offers cPanel and WHM. Although many other hosting websites offer demo versions of their cPanel, HostPapa doesn’t. The cPanel is quite standard and offers all the tools you need to set up and manage your websites and domains.
The customer support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone, live chat or email. Their customer support is multilingual and offers support in English, Spanish and French. They offer country-specific contacts and toll free numbers as well. There is no information whether their support staff is inbound or outsourced however. Their website also offers a help center with a knowledgebase and video tutorials. The knowledge base features articles in English, French, Spanish and German. The articles are divided into a number of categories which makes navigation much easier, and there is also a search option available. There is also a news section within their knowledgebase where they regularly post information about software updates and changes.
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
HostPapa offers a pretty much standard money back guarantee. A refund may be issued within 30 days. The guarantee covers both the reseller and shared hosting plans, but add-on features, setup fees, privacy and domain name fees, as well as mobile fees aren’t included into the refund policy.
HostPapa focuses on shared and reseller hosting and offers multilingual support for their clients. Their hosting plans, both the shared and reseller ones, offer a nice amount of flexibility, which makes them a good choice for small businesses and individuals. The fact that their servers run on renewable energy and that they put quite a lot effort into being a green company adds another plus to them. They also have one of the largest knowledge bases when compared to their competitors, and this is certainly quite valuable for those who are new to website hosting. Their certified support experts are quick to help and they resolve any issue that may arise quickly and efficiently.
